Ah, Finals...

It’s been awhile since I’ve written, and let me tell you why.

I’d like to say I’ve had no time, but that would be a lie.

Although it is somewhat true, I will tell you the real reason,

My story may sound crazy, but trust me, I ain’t teasin’

I kept my passwords on my phone, so that my brain could wander,

Which worked out fine until that is, I dropped it in the shower.

Ok. Enough Dr. Seus. But seriously, I dropped my phone in the shower awhile ago and I lost all my passwords and stuff. I had them written down somewhere else but I still can’t remember where I put it.

So I have changed all my passwords in case someone finds it, but I finally just figured out my email/password to my blog so here I am, tah dah!!

Really quick, let me specify I was not IN the shower, I was turning it on, flipping through my phone to get to an email (my morning devotional) and I lost my balance and instead of banging my head into the wall I dropped my phone and caught myself on the bath tub.

I’d love to tell everyone what I’ve done this semester, but I’ll be honest, I can’t remember. Ha!

So let me just share what’s gone on this last week.

Dead week. It’s so appropriately named! I had 2 piano quizzes, a jazz/12 bar blues project, a paper, a worship service project, practice, vocal juries, a group final, a woodwind final, review sessions, and work (120 students, 5 pieces of music each to check off and put away) it was a little hectic.

Side Notes: Juries are what all music majors go through for the individual instruments. In my case, I have vocal juries. You pick a piece or two from your repertoire from the semester and perform it in front of a panel (in my case all the other vocal professors including the department head) and they judge you. It’s awesome. They fill out forms and make comments and give you an overall grade…it’s wonderfully overwhelming.

I had mine at 9:40 Saturday morning. I sang “Lo, How A Rose E’er Blooming”, and YES! I remembered all my words! Unfortunately I messed up the rhythm pretty badly BUT the panel of judges didn’t say anything about it…strange.

And in the end, everyone gave me an A. :)

I have so far finished my Practical Musicianship III group final, woodwind final, “choir final”, vocal jury, Music in Worship final, and my Performance Forum final.

Tomorrow morning I have my Practical Musicianship III individual final and Wednesday I have my Theory IV final, Baroque final, and have to turn in my last Theory IV project and my Baroque term paper.

Even better, my family is driving down TOMORROW and they are taking me to dinner tomorrow AND TO DISNEYLAND Thursday and Friday, and coming HOME Saturday! :)

Now I should go back to my studies,

We don’t want my brain to be muddy,

Remain patient. I promise to update you soon,

Please do not worry, simply stay tune….

….d.
